The difference between this design and other plans out there is that you have a lot of freedom.  You choose what kind of cage box to use and how many boxes you want in each rack level.  Then use the Measurement Worksheet to help you calculate the number and length of the parts.

Once you've made your cage box measurements and calculated part sizes and numbers, review the design diagram and links below for detailed written instructions & demonstration videos on how to make the parts.  

The structure is entirely constructed from lumber available at any home improvement center and includes 2X4's, 2X2's and 1/4 inch peg-board.  Review the Materials section for tips on choosing lumber.

It is designed to be built one level at a time and then assembled into a full rack system.  This aids in movement and reconfiguration as collections change over time.  Numerous modifications to materials and design may be made to meet the needs of any hobbyist.  If you find a way that works better for you, then go for it.
