You'll need a media player or a browser plug-in capable of playing MPEG files (.mpg), such as Windows Media Player, Real Player, or QuickTime. We've found that some players such as WMP "stretch" the video as if it were a widescreen movie. For this reason, we recommend using RealPlayer to view the videos.
In order to view and print the measurement worksheets you'll need a document viewer capable of viewing PDF (.pdf) files. Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® is available for free download at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
When I click the instructional video links nothing happens or I get an error message that the file format is not supported.
Check to ensure you have a media player installed that can play MPEG (.mpg) files and that the .mpg file type is associated with your player in your browser settings.
Upgrade your media player with the latest version (these are free upgrades and the updates are usually automatic). Media players may include Windows Media Player (requires internet connection), RealPlayer, QuickTime and others. We've found that upgrading media players usually solves most multimedia related problems. They should be enabled to launch from your web browser, either in the browser itself or in a separate window (better in a separate window).
The instructional videos play fine, but the window they play in is too small to see well.
The videos are intended to be sized to 352 X 240. Sometimes media players resize videos to play in their default window size. Check the media player documentation to learn how to disable resizing of video content.
When I try to open the measurement worksheets, nothing happens or I get an error message.
In order to read and print the measurement worksheets you must have a PDF document reader installed. The most popular reader is Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®. This is available as a free download from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
When I try to use the calculator, nothing happens or I get an error message.
Javascript must be enabled in your browser for the calculator to work. To enable javascript check your web browser's documentation. Most browsers are installed with javascript enabled by default. If you continue to have difficulty with this, upgrading your web browser is highly recommended - and will most likely solve the problem.
The videos seem stretched out or distorted when playing.
Some media players treat all mpg videos as if they were widescreen movies. We've found that RealPlayer is the best player to use to view the videos on these pages.
